Coming from the north:
Following highway A7 coming from France, take the exit nº3: Figueres Nord. Once in Figueres you have to carefully watch for a sign to Olot (to the right). Keep following Olot, first on the national road N-260 and then on the new motorway A-26 (at the height of Besalu). Take exit Montagut i Oix. At the roundabout choose Montagut GIP-5233.Drive through Montagut follow Sadernes. Once you have left the village, after half a km you find a sign "Camping Rural Can Banal" to the left. You will find the campsite 2km further up.
Coming from the south:
Following highway A7 towards France, take the exit nº 6 "Girona Nord - Banyoles - Olot". Keep following Olot, first on the national road C-66 and then on the new motorway A-26 (at the height of Besalu). Then take exit Montagut in Oix. Further on; see description above.
Coming by public transport:
Anybody travelling by plane, train (
renfe) or coach will have to take a regional bus for the last part of the journey. The company responsible for this service is called
TEISA. On this site look for:
- Barcelona: the crossing c/Pau Claris with c/Consell de Cents
- Girona bus station, beside the train station (RENFE)
- Figueres bus station, beside the train station (RENFE)
This TEISA service is called: "la Garrotxa Express" and maintains a direct connection between the Garrotxa region and Barcelona/Girona/Figueres.
IMPORTANT:
When buying the ticket in Barcelona or Girona, ask for the route via BANYOLES to Olot. Make clear with the bus driver that you wish to get off at the bus stop: CRUÏLLA or TRENCAT DE MONTAGUT. We can pick you up from there offering a taxi service - Give us a call! If you wish to walk it is 6km to Can Banal. Start walking towards the village of Montagut. Further on; see description above.
